With the Festival spread over 400 locations - galleries, cafes, hotels, shopping centers etc., it is not that easy to escape it.
I think it is the greatest art initiative I have ever came across as it brings art to the street and makes it available to everyone everywhere (if you lucky enough to live in South Australia!)
On Tuesday, the weather was fine and sunny so we went out for a walk on Maggil Rd. to visit a small selection of galleries.
Maggil rd. is a fantastic location when you're in the mood for art.
It is full of galleries (7 of them are participating in the festival but there are many others), antique shops, design and special furniture stores along with cute cafes and small eateries to accompany you in your travel.
We visited 3 galleries and I enjoyed it every bit. It was all both extraordinarily good and so interesting.
Little M. felt very arti and was very patient so I could spent as much time as I'd like admiring the works. I actually think she enjoyed it just as well!
I thought I would give you a glimpse of what we saw so you can feel part of the festival yourself!
If you read this and live around here, be sure to visit the Sala Festival's web site, check your local area for the festival's varied locations and go out to catch some art!
Works shown here are of Militjari Pumani @ AP bond Art Dealer, Ropar Dennis @ Ropar Gallery, Rohan Fraser, Marina Strocchi, Thom Buchanan and Peter Drew @ Gallery 139 .......more on my Flickr
Too bad we don't live there:)
