I've had Rune Guneriussen's artworks bookmarked for sometime now and I keep forgetting to share his fantastic work with you... Eventually, here it is.
Rune Guneriussen is a young Scandinavian conceptual artist who lives and works in eastern Norway.
His work is in the transition between installation and photography. Rune works with objects such as tables, lamps and chairs which she shot on location all over Norway. The objects are implemented in a landscape that is so unnatural for them and therefore take on characteristics that they wouldn’t normally be associated with.
The work is made solely on site, and the photographs represents the reality of the installation itself.
The result is surreal and fantastic and to me looks like scenes from a science fiction movie. I can easily imagine those globes as aliens who invade planet earth sending their friends, the lamps, to investigate this weird place.
I even have a title for it, although not so original: The Globe's Invasion of Earth.
These are some of the most interesting artworks I've seen. You can stare at these for hours, lay out a different story for every one of the photographs/installations.
I'm curious to know, what do you see in it, what stories would you make?
I love the snowy lamps - very interesting! So many creative people in the world, thanks for sharing, I would've never come across this otherwise!
