SALA Festival 2010:: The Richmond Road Studios

I can't believe a year has already passed from the last SALA Festival!
This year the record breaking SALA festival is showcasing over 3,000 South Australian visual artists throughout 518 metropolitan and regional wineries, cafes, galleries, and other unique, colourful spaces throughout the state.
I will dedicate the next days to visit a couple of galleries and will update you along the week with stories and photos.

The first SALA venue I had visited this year was the Richmond Road Studios.
I was happy to be invited to the studio's Opening Night Party last Saturday and enjoyed meeting with and talking to the great artists who are part of this feminine studio: Krista Jenkins, Megan Roodenrys, Bronwen Roodenrys-Mills and Lisa Conolly.
The place was looking absolutely stunning and very festive for the opening night.
The exhibition was separated into three spaces: Megan Roodenrys's studio, the open yard where  Megan's renowned work -"Waiting For The Day" was presented, and another beautifully decorated room, where the patterned rich works of Bronwen Roodenrys-Mills and the strong, womanish works of Krista Jenkins were displayed (photos 1-3).
I absolutely loved whatever I saw and left with a strong desire for more.

I highly recommend that you visit the Richmond Road Studios website and to view the fantastic works of Krista, Megan, Bronwen, and Lisa, or even better - visit the open studio if you're around Adelaide in the next 2 weeks!

Happy Arty week!
