PicTurin Mural Art Festival

No one can deny that street art becomes more and more a legitimate art form.
The PicTurin festival is taking this statement to the next level, being the first international event celebrating mural art.
The festival took place last October in Turin, Italy, with an impressive line up of artists that, armed with spray cans, painted a total of over 3,500 square meters of wall, legally.

Turin had showed itself to be a very open and creative city, what makes it a very interesting place to visit. As for the festival, as it is it's first go, what's ahead is still uncertain. I do hope to see it growing and spreading over more cities around the world, enabling people to be exposed to street art as a positive and inspiring art form rather than a vandalism act.

Do you enjoy street art? Do you think legitimating it as in the PicTurin, will enable it to grow or will change its concept altogether?

  1. This is so cool- I absolutely love street art and mural art- It is such a contemporary form of art work and so often is linked to a greater message which represents present day issues. I also appreciate street art that sets out to put a smile on your face.

Here is a post I wrote a couple months ago about La Mission in SF-
