Somehow, I totally missed hearing about Dash Magazine when it was launched, last february.
Luckily, last month I found the first issue in our local news agency.
The cover caught my eye with its fetching illustration (by MeriƧ Canatan) and its excellent tagline - Illustrating Fashion, and I didn't need a second look to know that if I do buy one magazine a season, it's going to be this one.
And boy, is it grand!
I swallowed the whole thing, cover to cover, immediately.
It is so beautifully designed! I love the clean, smart layout and muted colours, the fresh content which is both very well written and fun to read, the typography, refined styling, and above all, the introduction with so many new (to me) artists and illustrators such as Spiros Halaris, Zoe Irvin, Nadeesha Godamunne (4th photo above), Chelsea Brown (2nd photo from bottom), Elisabeth Bukanova (last photo), and many, many others.
I'm totally in love with it and already looking forward to the 2nd issue in August!

Wow, looks great! Will look for it next time I am at the News Agency! There are a couple of intersting magazines that I have discovered during recent trips there, all of them picking up the Frankie style more or less. Need to check if I can borrow them all at the libray :) xx
ReplyDeleteWow... it looks amazing! I seem to miss things too...I must venture into the newsagency more often! :)
ReplyDeleteThis magazine looks fabulous! I love the look of the typography and illustrations. I wonder if my local newsagent stocks it…?
ReplyDeleteAnything that reads issue one always gives me hope that print is not, in fact, not completely dead.
ReplyDeleteI love the illustrations! It's always nice to find new magazines to read that are a bit different from the usual ones :)
