Today is grey again. Everything is grey. The sky, the water in the little creek behind our home, my mood, my clothes...
I never realize how this grey weather can affect your mood. You instantly forget all about the beautiful shiny days that just passed and get all grey, outside and inside.
Last weekend we thought we would fight the grey and with great determination got into the car and headed to the Encounter Bay area to look for whales (again!).
We made it to Victor Harbor to find it.... so grey!
But so so beautiful. It was the kind of graceful grey I love so much.
The sky changed its colour every 2 minutes - from light grey to dark blue, white clouds, then black heavy clouds and so on and on.
It was just glorious.
We were brave enough to cross the jetty towards Granite Island but right in the middle we realized we wouldn't make it dry to the other end...
It started raining so hard with such strong winds that it was actually a physical challenge to keep going. People were trying to cover the best they could but the wind and rain were too strong.
You can't beat The Man so easily though!
He was carrying little M. on one hand, the backpack on his back, the camera with another hand and keep encouraging me to follow with a big smile on his face.
Finally, we made it to the other end, wet but happy and laughing all the way.
It was too stormy for the little penguins to come out so we had to settle with 'only' a seal! It was magnificent and worth the whole drive!
The island itself is so beautiful. Just as an island can be.
The blue sea all around, with strange looking rocks and wonderful flora.
So no whales this time again but we had the best time.
.....
I just found out now that I have finished writing that the sun came out!
Happy shiny Friday everyone!
Don't you know that Gray is the new Pink or something? :)
