Curious George Plants A Tree

Little M. is having a crush on Curious George for a long time now. As I really like the books myself, I just borrowed a whole bunch of them from the library for her.

The ones I got are not part of the original Curious George's series but are what is called George's "New Adventures".  They are written by different authors and illustrated by different illustrators in the style of Margaret and H.A Rey's, the original 'parents' of Curious George.

In this one - Curious George Plants A Tree, George is going into his mischievous behavior as he always does, but on the way he learns a thing or two about protecting the environment by planting trees, recycling and reusing.

The end of the book has a list of 20 simple everyday things you can do to conserve energy and resources. All of them are easy to follow and understand even for a 4 years old kids.

I like the way the book brings this important issue of the environment into young kids awareness in an easy to understand, appealing and playful way.
It could be interesting to get the young ones to think about this story and to come up with their own ideas of how they can go green in their everyday life.

I can only guess how little M. would understand the idea of recycling -  probably all of our books and paper goods will find their way to the recycling bin in no time!! mmmm.... I think we should put our efforts on planting a tree first...
