Purl Soho's Baby Blankets Kits

Not just that these Baby Blankets Kits by Purl Soho make an excellent gift, the photos are a work of art by themselves. I can easily see a couple of them hanged together as prints in my bedroom.

Would you knit for a present?

Happy Monday!!

Hello Monday!
You are so welcome! I'm looking forward to a very interesting and exciting week! I have so many places to visit, things I want to see and friends I want to catch up with!
Whatever your plans for the week ahead are, I hope you'll have a wonderful time!

This week is going to be dedicated to Israeli art, design and stories. I hope you'll enjoy my little tour!

A wonderful start would be the happy designs of BabyToGo.
Carmit, a former dancer and an Artist director, started sewing after her elder daughter was born. She integrates old and new so beautifully and creates those sweet and charming Retro inspired cloth dolls which I completely in love with! Aren't these the cutest?
These are so much more than 'just' a children's toy, I could scatter them all around the house to keep me company!
Hey, wouldn't it be great to find a little dolly peeking at you from behind your coffee jar in the morning, smiling and wishing you a fantastic day?

Curious George Plants A Tree

Little M. is having a crush on Curious George for a long time now. As I really like the books myself, I just borrowed a whole bunch of them from the library for her.

The ones I got are not part of the original Curious George's series but are what is called George's "New Adventures".  They are written by different authors and illustrated by different illustrators in the style of Margaret and H.A Rey's, the original 'parents' of Curious George.

In this one - Curious George Plants A Tree, George is going into his mischievous behavior as he always does, but on the way he learns a thing or two about protecting the environment by planting trees, recycling and reusing.

The end of the book has a list of 20 simple everyday things you can do to conserve energy and resources. All of them are easy to follow and understand even for a 4 years old kids.

I like the way the book brings this important issue of the environment into young kids awareness in an easy to understand, appealing and playful way.
It could be interesting to get the young ones to think about this story and to come up with their own ideas of how they can go green in their everyday life.

I can only guess how little M. would understand the idea of recycling -  probably all of our books and paper goods will find their way to the recycling bin in no time!! mmmm.... I think we should put our efforts on planting a tree first...

Julie Mercier's Tour du Monde

This beautiful print by French illustrator Julie Mercier, made me look.

Julie Mercier Tour du Monde

Julie's print is called "Around the World" for the English version or "Tour du Monde" for the French one, is an exclusive and monumental atlas-print for children.
My little miss would probably love this so much. I can only guess how her explorer's imagination will invent names, questions and dreams out of this wonderful artwork with all its fun details. Such imaginative piece of work!

The limited edition is available here in three colour versions, in English and French.
