I'm Loving:: FRAMEicariums by Hugh Hayden and Katie Vitale

Now, tell me the truth, do you get what it is without reading any further?

When I first saw the ANTique FRAMEicariums, I thought they are beautiful, magical pieces of art. It took me couple of long minutes to realize what it is really about...
FRAMEicariums are made from salvaged antique frames that contain shifting landscapes created by real-life ants. They are the ant-farms of your childhood but unlike a conventional ant farm, this community is displayed as a designed centerpiece on a wall or desktop.

I love this idea so much because it mixes a science experiment with fun and makes it an activity the whole family can enjoy together with the fascinating result that is a dynamic and unique artwork.

The FRAMEicariums were created by the creative due Hugh Hayden and Katie Vitale to be showcased at BKLYN Designs 2010.
The FRAMEicariums are available at Hugh Hayden's store (Also in contemporary frame styles)

Other things I'm loving today:
Hello Sandwich write about Her first day living in Tokyo!
Color Berlin photographs by Matthias Heiderich on DesignVagabond
Sandra Juto photographs her breakfast (yes, I have a thing with breakfasts...)
