Project Thirty-Three is a super cool project of
Jive Time Records, a Seattle based store specializing in used vinyl. They scan the covers of old 33’s and post/collect them in their blog which became a terrific archive-gallery.
These are some of my favorites from the amazing collection of geometry, color, dots, circles and squares of Project Thirty-Three.

What an awesome idea! I love record cover art so much I"m always perusing the old record stores in search of covers to frame. These are all gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteI actually own that Provocative Percussion album, and aside from looking gorgeous in that sleeve, it sounds exceptional as well. It was issued to test audio equipment, with different sounds panned across the stereo field. It sounds amazing on headphones.
ReplyDeleteAs for the artwork, I'm pretty sure it's by Josef Albers. (I'll have to confirm that when I get home!)
