People and Places is a beautiful series of portraits by British photographer James Jasper
who created juxtapositions of his subject’s silhouettes and a aerial view of Beijing.

It somehow reminds me of one of my favorite films - Lost in Translation by Sofia Coppola. Something in the same detached atmosphere that is achieved here by isolating the subjects from their surrounding. I find the series a bit melancholic and at the same time so exquisite and mesmerizing.

  2. What an amazing series! Completely agree with you: both melancholic and mesmerizing. Love the contrast between this impressive view and the subject standing alone in front of it.
