Hotel Favorita

To tell you the truth, I can't even remember the last time I had stayed at a hotel and I don't really miss it either. On my previous job I used to travel abroad 4-6 times a year and usually stayed at top rated hotel. For now, I feel like I had much too much of this synthetic luxury and I crave more of a simple, homey feeling.
Whilst living Down Under, we try to camp out as much as we can. The weather is great most of the year, the nature and scenery are amazing and the wildlife is something you can't get enough of (I mean, there's nothing like coming out of your tent and spot a kangaroo hopping by isn't it? Not even the most terrific room service!)

But when I've saw these photos of Hotel Favorita in Porto, Portugal, no feeling of synthetics or alienation came up. This place looks like home-away-from-home. It feels cozy and warm and feature the airy, clean, Mid-Century modern design I adore.

The hotel's building was structurally transformed by Portuguese architect Nuno Sottomayor and the interiors were finished by designer Sam Baron that cleverly designed the place as a house where everyone is warmly welcomed rather than a design hotel.

I look forward to visit Portugal one day.
There is something so appealing and intriguing in this country with its unique old-fashioned character. I would especially like to visit Porto thanks to the Port wine producing which fascinate both The Man and myself. It is great to learn Porto also offer great design!
