A Concrete Home

I liked this space of Eva Presenhuber, a Zurich-based gallery owner, from first sight. Maybe it is mainly after watching The Ghost Writer with its iconic concrete house (see previous post).
The use of concrete in a private home is always an intriguing and challenging choice.
In this remote Alpine village house, although the concrete definitely rules, the feeling is warm and welcoming.
I especially love the little islands of colors and the coziness created by using wood on some of the walls and ceiling. The text on the walls is great for giving the place an extra personality.

  1. I like the concrete, but not the raw plywood - it just looks cheap and unfinished to me.

Recycled practically-anything would have more interest...
