I'm loving everything to do with Japanese food, not just because of the way it taste, but because of the high aesthetics of its presentation. This Wagashi set by bananagranola is so excellently beautiful.

We were supposed to go camping this weekend. Instead we will have a more luxurious time at an heritage cottage at the Clare Valley, which is, of course, not bad at all!
I can't wait to sleep out and "wake to songbirds, wake to crows" as Jonathan Levitt says. These are, without a doubt, the best camping photos and scene I've seen.

I already mentioned Jim Denevan here. On 2010 Jim went further with his art concept, and left his impermanent mark on the frozen surface of Lake Baikal, Siberia. Full story and photos on The Anthropologist.

Artist and performer Tony Orrico performs a graphite drawing of 8 circles as part of his Penwald series. Each circle is drawn by four patterns consisting of 31.25 efforts each, 1,000 efforts total. Here's a video where Tony explain his work and perform at the National Academy of Sciences, Washington DC.
