Green Bathroom

I'm totally in love with the idea of decorating our bathroom with green, living plants.

How do you decorate your bathroom? What do you think of the idea of plants or flowers in it?

Six Things:: Birds-Eye Maple Boards

Birds-Eye Maple Boards Edward Wohl

Smooth, warm, natural wood is one of my favorite materials.
Those Birds-Eye Maple Boards by Edward Wohl are so fine, I'm not sure I will ever use them (that if I''ll be lucky enough to own one).

Hope your weekend is smooth and peaceful friends! xx

Friday Finds:: Stripes

Hello Noodles!!
It is this happy day again when you can smell the weekend sneaking in! whoohoo!!
We're going to spend a very cozy weekend with my parents who came for their annual visit in Australia. It's so great to have them here!!

I'm totally in a vacation mood and started planning our trip to Melbourne for the next weekend (by the way, I'm looking for tips!!! I'll be so thankful for any recommendations of interesting things to do/eat/visit/walk/see!)
Holidays always make me want to wear stripes and so I'm wrapping this week with a stripey edition of Friday Finds.

Hope your week was lovely! Whatever your plans for the upcoming weekend are, I hope you'll have fabulous and happy time!! See you here on Monday!
Love, Galit xx

Friday Finds:: Autumn

It is Friday again!
This week brought with it cold winds and chilly evenings. No doubt autumn is here.
I have to say that the last couple of months were not considered as summer in my book. It was more likely a very long spring that turned into autumn.
We hardly had any hot days and the grass at the front yard is still green.
I wonder how the winter is going to be, as last year, it was the coldest winter for the last ten or fifteen years and it was sure cold enough for me.
With autumn, the wine vintage season is full on and my man is harvesting grapes and works pretty much around the clock. Good luck South Australian wine makers with this year's vintage! It will be an interesting one.

I'm wrapping the week with some autumnal Etsy favorites.
What are your plans for the weekend? Hope you enjoy the new season, whatever it is in your part of the world!!
See you here on Monday! Galit xx

Friday Finds:: If in doubt, I always use yellow

Hello Noodles!
It was a visually busy week here at the Slow Noodle and I feel the need for subtler, muted colours. Not sure that this post can be considered subtler, but as the title suggest; If in doubt, I always use yellow (my favorite color!)

What are your plans for the weekend?
The Adelaide Fringe Festival is on,  which means a lot of things are going on in the city. We have such a busy agenda, trying to squeeze so many happenings into one busy weekend and leave some time for a good rest (very challenging...).
Wishing you a weekend full with fun and happy moments!! Will see you all here on Monday! xo Galit

I'm Loving:: Deborah Bowness Wallpapers

The hand screened wallpaper collection by Deborah Bowness are surprisingly unique, deliciously delicate,  and absolutely incredible.
The collection includes "Frocks" (image 1, 4 & 5), "Utility" -  a selections of chairs, lamps, books, and drawers (image 3 & 4); "Flora & Fauna", "Illusions of Grandeur" - chic, exquisite patterns and textures) and the great "Books" pieces that can help you grow your bookshelves without the actually books' weight...
They are offered in drops or in kits so you can mix and arranged them to create a special, personalized wall of your own.

How dull and empty my walls look to me now after I've seen these. WANT!

Check the Commissions section of Deborah's website for more inspiration.

Boiserie

Boiserie is a Japanese specialty store with a focus on antique French furniture.
It was hard to understand the items' descriptions or get more info about the shop, although google translate is doing a great job with translating Japanese into English.
But the words are less important here. The atmosphere in the photos and the fine selection of furniture, decorating goods, lighting and mirrors are marvelous and speak for themselves.

I find their selection of products to be in line with the Wabi Sabi aesthetics, which I'm so drawn to - a collection of items that have a past and therefore a character of their own. I believe, when you add one of those to your home, you enjoy more than just a new decoration, you add personality to you space.

Although since we had arrived to Australia we were buying mainly second hand furniture, I still haven't found that special something that I can truly say there's an interesting story behind. I always wanted to get my own old leather couch that is 20 years old and got that smell of distant places, journeys or even just... tobacco. Something like in this apartment for example.

Do you hold a piece of furniture or decoration that has got a special story or memories? Please share with me!
